    Bus Train

    No 1 bus to Newport runs ten times an hour during the day. From Newport access to all areas of the island by bus. Journey time from Cowes to Newport around 22 minutes.

    You can get the No 4 bus from East Cowes to Ryde (No 4) at 9 minutes past the hour, until 7pm.

    Walk

    Discover more about the history of Cowes and its trees with the Histree trail, less than 2 miles

    With its close nautical connections, perhaps it comes as no surprise that both Cowes has its own Maritime Museum East Cowes have their own Classic Boat Gallery located in Venture Quays (The large building with the large Union Jack painted on its doors).

    Head down to the esplanade thought the winding streets & take a walk past the Royal Yacht Squadron to Gurnard. There is a Cafe and a public house at the end of the esplanade.

    Grab the chain ferry to East Cowes for another tree trail 2½ miles long or get the bus (No 4 or 5) or walk to Osborne House

    Walk to Thorness Bay along the coast from Gurnard (only really suitable in Summer as gets very muddy underfoot) – pass some old railway carriages converted into holiday chalets.
    Visit the Tourist Information Centre by the Red Jet terminal and pick up more walking guides, such as the Boat Trail which takes you around Cowes and East Cowes.

    If you fancy a bit of live theatre, musical or light operetta, se what’s on at the Trinity Theatre , located in the heart of the town.
