Days out from Ventnor
If you have any more suggestions for days out from Ventnor, pleaase get in touch (see link at bottom of page).

Despite the hills, Ventnor offers a variety of cycle routes.
Shanklin & Niton
The Undercliff Drive runs along the undercliff all the way to Niton and St Catherine’s lighthouse. Frequent landslips have changed the layout of this road several times since it was built in the Victorian times.
Ventnor Botanic Gardens can be access via the cliff walk from the Esplanade. (Go through La Falaise car park) You can carry on along the coast to Steephill Cove, a reclusive hamlet which is accessible only by foot. Here you can enjoy the beach or eat at the cafe, serving fresh caught seafood.
If you head the other way (East) along the sea front you can take a stroll to Bonchurch and visit the fabulous church at Bonchurch, then head back inland through Bonchuch village and its famous pond.
A trudge to the top of Bonchurch Downs (the highest point on the island) will offer you amazing views across Sandown Bay (or you can cheat and get the bus to the top of the town). You can also head around he cost to Shanklin via Luccombe – although this walk is exerting and can be muddy. If you can reach the top of Ventnor, take a walk to Niton along the top of the cliffs, overlooking the undercliff and across the English Channel, or divert off to Whitwell.
For evening entertainment, why not see what is on at the Winter Gardens .
